1) Arkady Fomin and the Clavier Trio: Overachievers Extraordinaire

Join host Kevin Woelfel for a look at entrepreneurship through Arkady Fomin, a violinist with the Dallas Symphony, chamber-solo musician, and honored educator. This episode features the music of the Clavier Trio  and comments by cellist Jesus Castro-Balbi.

2) Lindsay Brust: Networking and Palmetto Records

Lindsay Brust shares her experiences about landing her job with Palmetto Records . It's a great testament to networking, preparation, and persistence. Born in 1981, Lindsay grew up in Marion, Iowa. She earned a Bachelors of Arts with a major in Music with Elective Studies in Business, a minor in Business and Public Administration and a Jazz Concentration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Bitten by the New York bug, Ms. Brust joined the staff of Jazz at Lincoln Center in 2003. In 2005 she launched her own management and publicity company, Encounter Entertainment (EE). Through EE, she handles tour press for all kinds of musicians included Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson and Eliane Elias.

3) Networking: Who's with you?

Networking within the music industry is as important as ever. This episode includes some basic concepts and tools to help you get started making the most of your contacts. The featured guitar interludes are by Carey Harwood. (This session is available in video on our Online Learning page)

4) With Pen and Mallets: An interview with Jennie Dorris

Jennie is a professional writer and percussionist. She writes articles for the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado and produces her own concert series. In this Podcast, she shares some ideas on how you can get the attention of your local press. Also included in the broadcast are parts of a performance of "Hammer and Bow", a piece by Michael Colgrass  for violin (Marcin Arendt) and marimba (Jennie Dorris).

5) What's My Persona?

This episode explores your entrepreneurial persona and how important it is to be infectious about what you do. There are many similarities between successful business entrepreneurs and artists- including their contagious enthusiasm!
